Mirra Andreeva’s parents, Raisa and Alexander Andreeva, have been a strong source of support throughout her young tennis career. It was her mom who started everything.
She has everyone talking about her fantastic performance at Wimbledon 2025. She reached the quarterfinals and became the youngest player to get that far since 2007.
Her Centre Court debut was nothing short of magical. In a dominant performance, she dismantled Emma Navarro in straight sets (6-2, 6-3), never letting the pressure shake her.
Every shot seemed to land perfectly, and every decision was flawless. It was tennis at its most commanding.
But the best moment came after the match. Lost in her focus, Mirra didn’t even realize she’d won until Navarro approached the net to shake hands.
This Wimbledon success caps off what’s already been a massive year for her. She’s won two WTA 1000 titles in 2025 – one at Indian Wells and another at Dubai. She broke into the top 10 and reached her career-high ranking of No. 6.
Mirra Andreeva Parents
Mirra Aleksandrovna Andreeva, the daughter of Raisa and Alexander Andreeva, was born on April 29, 2007, in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Her tennis story has an interesting beginning that involves her mom.
Back in 2005, Raisa was watching the Australian Open. Marat Safin was playing, and she got completely hooked on tennis after watching him compete. The sport fascinated her, and she couldn’t stop watching every match after that.
This moment changed everything for the Andreeva family. Raisa had a big idea, and she wanted both her daughters to learn how to play tennis.
She had made up her mind that Mirra and her sister Erika were going to become tennis players.
The girls showed real talent pretty quickly. Their family packed up and moved from Krasnoyarsk to Moscow so the girls could get better training. Moving to a bigger city meant more opportunities for serious tennis development.
In 2022, both sisters joined the Elite Tennis Centre in Cannes, France, where their tennis skills improved significantly. Even with all this success, their parents stayed very involved in everything.
Since Mirra wasn’t yet 18, her father, Alexander, handled all her financial matters. After she won the Dubai Tennis Championships in February, she told reporters something pretty funny.
All her prize money went straight onto her dad’s credit card because she didn’t even have her bank account yet.
Mirra Andreeva Sister: Erika Andreeva
Mirra isn’t the only tennis player in her family. Her older sister, Erika Andreeva, born on June 24, 2004, also competes professionally on the WTA Tour.
Both sisters began training at a young age, and Erika followed the same path as Mirra.
The whole family moved so both girls could get better coaching. Having two daughters pursuing tennis meant significant changes for everyone.
Erika studied classical guitar as a child, but she chose tennis as her primary career instead. She’s done pretty well for herself and reached her highest singles ranking ever at No. 65 in October 2024.
Moreover, she’s won several titles along the way, including three singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit. She also grabbed a WTA Challenger doubles title.
The Andreeva sisters have been training together for years now. They’ve been side by side through all the moves and changes.
