My 600-lb Life Shantel Oglesby: Where Is She Now?

Shantel Oglesby Now

Shantel Oglesby joined My 600-lb Life back in 2020 with her younger brother, Carlton. She was 31 at the time and weighed around 600 pounds.

Her story wasn’t only about weight, and she dealt with years of emotional pain like many featured on the show. Her journey was about more than numbers — it was about starting over and taking control of her life.

Carlton stood by her throughout the process. Their bond was a steady source of support during some of the most challenging moments. After the cameras stopped rolling, Shantel continued working on herself.

Now, she is a mother and a business owner, moving further and crafting a life that feels right to her.

Where Is Shantel Oglesby Now?

Shantel Oglesby decided to build a life around her own goals and dreams after the conclusion of My 600-lb Life. Her social media shows someone who balances taking care of herself with chasing big ambitions.

She jumped into the business world by leading Act Fab Cosmetics. Later, she created her beauty line called Boujee Besties Beauty. Her products contained everything from body scrubs and sunglasses to self-defense tools.

Thousands of customers bought her items. The website is currently unavailable, but she continues to connect with her audience and prioritize self-care.

Business ventures kept coming. She worked as a designer at MSAEvents LLC and ran an online store called My Style Angels. These projects showed how much she had grown since appearing on television.

Shantel started a YouTube channel named Shantel Sheds the Weight. She shared her journey and encouraged others to love themselves.

New videos haven’t appeared in a while, but her earlier content was honest and full of positive energy.

My 600-lb Life: Shantel Oglesby’s Husband And Kids

Shantel’s love life has been pretty amazing. She got married to Michael Joseph White back in November 2010. They’ve been together through thick and thin.

On their 14th anniversary, she wrote this lovely post about Michael. She thanked him for always being there and believing in her when things got tough.

Michael has worked at several places to support his family. He had jobs at Walmart, Valvoline Instant Oil Change, and Market District.

During Shantel’s weight loss journey, he played a significant role at home. People watching the show could see him taking care of their kids and encouraging Shantel every day.

The couple has four children: Michael Josiah, Royal Rashini, Treasure Marie, and Emerald Dawn.

Taking care of four children while running businesses is not easy. Shantel does both jobs with lots of love and hard work. Her family keeps her motivated while her business dreams push her to keep growing.

Shantel’s Powerful Weight Loss Journey

Shantel had a hard time growing up. She saw abuse happen in her family when she was just a kid. Food became her way to feel better during those tough years. All that pain from childhood stayed with her as she got older.

This emotional baggage followed her to My 600-lb Life, where she appeared with her brother Carlton. Both of them wanted weight loss surgery from Dr. Nowzaradan. The doctor initially said no to both of them, and they had to prove they could change their eating habits.

Shantel took the challenge seriously. She started following the program rules. She changed what she ate and how much she ate.

Carlton followed the same path, and they both worked hard to lose weight the right way.

The results spoke for themselves. Shantel had lost 215 pounds by the end of their episode, whereas Carlton had lost 243 pounds. The numbers were impressive, but something deeper had changed.

The cameras stopped rolling, but Shantel’s journey continued. She had learned to control her life again.

There are many videos online in which she wore colorful makeup and bright outfits. In those videos, her face appeared much smaller than before. These updates showed more than physical changes.

Shantel discussed balancing her body and her spirit simultaneously. She promised to keep going with her healthy changes. She also told other people they could make changes too.

Her story illustrates that addressing long-standing emotional issues can contribute to weight loss and enhance overall well-being.
