Corey Feldman’s parents, Bob and Sheila Feldman, played a big role in his early life and career. They got him started in acting when he was 3 and managed his career throughout his childhood.

People know Corey best for his acting work in the 1980s when he was a kid. He starred in popular movies like The Goonies, Stand by Me, and The Lost Boys.

However, he has discussed serious issues with how his parents treated him during his childhood. This makes their family story much more complicated.

Corey Feldman Parents Managed His Career

Corey Feldman, the son of Bob and Sheila Feldman, was born on July 16, 1971, in Reseda, California. Sheila’s name was Goldstein before she got married.

His father managed talent and was a musician who wrote songs that became extremely popular, including “My Boyfriend’s Back” and “I Want Candy.”

Moreover, Bob played bass guitar in a band called Strawberry Alarm Clock. He also managed Corey’s acting career when he was a kid.

Meanwhile, Sheila worked as a cocktail waitress and also worked at the Playboy Club. Alongside her husband, she helped manage Corey’s early acting jobs.

Corey grew up in a Jewish family in Los Angeles with his brothers and sisters. Both his parents helped get his entertainment career started when he was still young.

Allegations of Abuse

Corey Feldman has made serious accusations against his parents. He discussed these problems in interviews and wrote about them in his 2013 book, Coreyography.

He claims his parents obliged him to act when he was just three years old and alleges they took advantage of the money he earned.

The American actor says he earned about $1 million by the time he became a teenager. However, he was left with only $40,000 because his parents controlled all his financial resources.

He also accuses his mother, Sheila, of mistreating him both emotionally and physically. He says she called him mean names and gave him diet pills when he was only four years old.

Sheila has said these claims are not valid in an interview.

This thing with Corey is getting totally out of hand. I’m stressed, but I’m trying. It’s very hard to deal with. It really is. I just have to deal with it.

Furthermore, Corey also says his father hired Jon Grissom as a personal assistant. He named  Jon as one of the people who abused him.

The actor felt his home life was unhealthy and harmful. He went to court to legally separate from his parents when he was 15 years old. He wrote more about his childhood experiences in his 2020 movie called My Truth: The Rape of Two Coreys.

Corey Feldman Siblings

Corey Feldman has one older sister and three younger siblings.

Mindy Feldman, his older sister, was also a child actor and worked as a Mouseketeer on The New Mickey Mouse Club in 1977. Later, she transitioned into stage acting instead.

Eden Feldman is one of Corey’s younger sisters. Most people are not familiar with her because she keeps a low profile. She also worked as a producer for a short movie called Daymare.

Moreover, she appeared with Corey on a TV show called Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition. They talked about their family problems on that show.

Furthermore, Devin Feldman was born in 1981. Corey has mentioned him when talking about their family life. He mainly talks about the tough time when Devin was born.

Brittnie Feldman is the youngest of all the siblings. She keeps her life very secluded and doesn’t appear in public much. There are a few updates available about her work and personal life.
