You’ve probably seen Abby Phillip on CNN. She’s the journalist who covers politics and always looks so calm on TV. People respect her for her intelligent political reporting and her measured approach on television.
She covers big news stories but keeps her personal life private.
Netizens are curious if she’s having another baby and want details about her husband and daughter. Here’s what we know about Abby’s life when the cameras aren’t rolling.
Is Abby Phillip Pregnant?
Abby Phillip is not pregnant right now. She has not said anything about expecting another baby. She has one daughter, Naomi Angelina Richardson, born in August 2021.
Phillip shared the news when Naomi was born. She posted on social media that she and Marcus were thrilled to welcome their daughter. Little Naomi took her sweet time getting here. She was 10 days late.
When she finally showed up on that Monday morning, she weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.
Marcus and I are so happy to announce that the Naomi Angelina Richardson arrived bright and early on Monday morning perfectly happy, healthy and ready to eat. Mom and baby are feeling great.
Both parents put thought into choosing their daughter’s names. Naomi means pleasant one in Hebrew. Angelina came from Abby’s grandmother, who perished in 2014. This way, Naomi carries on her great-grandmother’s memory.
Naomi now attends junior kindergarten and continues to grow and develop. Abby works to keep her daughter out of the public eye. She does not want Naomi dealing with media attention because of her television work.
The goal is to let Naomi have a regular childhood like other kids her age.
Abby Phillip and Marcus Richardson Were Married in 2018
Abby and Marcus met in 2011 at a rooftop party in Washington, D.C. They didn’t know many people at the party. They began discussing everything they both liked – travel, languages, food, and music.
Someone came over and broke up their conversation. Abby didn’t even know the person who interrupted them, but they had to go their separate ways.
We were creating an awesome connection, when suddenly another woman interrupted. I was like, ‘Whoa, her friend is trying to save her from me,’ and we went our separate ways.
However, they got lucky when they saw each other again at another party. The same friend hosted this one, too. This time, they made sure to get each other’s phone numbers, and they started dating one week later.
Marcus waited until 2016 to propose. He picked a holiday gathering at their new apartment. Both of their families were there when he asked her to marry him. Abby said yes.
They got married at Anderson House in Washington, D.C., on May 26, 2018. They wanted to keep the ceremony personal, and only 90 guests came to celebrate with them.
Marcus never forgot watching Abby descend the grand staircase with her parents. She wore a splendid dress as she walked down those ornate steps. He said it was one of the superlative moments of their wedding day and could hardly believe they were getting married.
I wanted to tell him everything that had happened that day. To hold on to him as we entered into a really big moment that we had planned together for so long. I was so happy but not at all nervous about the act of actually getting married. I was very ready for that part.
