Nara Smith, a German fashion model and internet personality based in the United States, is renowned for her short cooking videos in which she prepares meals from scratch while wearing extravagant clothing. She began modeling at 14 after being discovered through IMG Models’ “We Love Your Genes” campaign.
She settled in California at 18 and became the face of Aritzia’s Sweatfleece campaign in 2024. Her TikTok videos went viral between 2023 and 2024 for posting “trad wife” content depicting her cooking elaborate meals for her family. She also posted her unusual taste in baby names as she was pregnant with her third child.
That’s one of the narratives that I have a really hard time wrapping my head around: the trad wife, whatever it is. You don’t see me getting on a plane, hopping to New York, modelling, coming back — all while I have a newborn — paying bills, filming content, getting my kids dressed. Being put into a certain box, just because people think that I’m slaving away, is so weird to me. I’m a working mom who gets to go about her day in a very different way than [someone with] a normal nine-to-five job would.
Nara met fashion model Lucky Blue Smith at Milan Fashion Week in 2019 and married him in February 2020 in California. The married couple has three children: Rumble Honet Smith, Slim Easy Smith, and Whimsy Lou Smith. Moreover, she became the stepmother of Lucky’s daughter, Gravity Blue Smith, from his previous relationship with Stormi Henley.
She has gained over 11.5 million followers on her TikTok and 4.5 million on Instagram.
Nara Smith Parents Are The Inspiration Behind Her Modeling
Nara Smith was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa, on September 27, 2001. Her mother is Mosotho, and her father is German. They relocated to Frankfurt, Germany, when she was only a infant. She grew up with two younger siblings, a brother and a sister, and a maternal half-brother.
She found inspiration in her parents and followed their advice to pursue modeling. However, she hasn’t revealed her parents’ identity. From a young age, her parents introduced her to the values of work, determination, and love for modeling.
Her parents created a supportive environment for the rising star to flourish in her modeling career. Later, she pursued her modeling dreams with the guidance of her father and mother.
Furthermore, her father used to regret having kids later in life. Thus, she wanted to be a mother at a young age.
I’ve always wanted to be a young mum because growing up my dad would always tell us that he regrets having kids later in life, so I took that advice and it’s one of the best decisions I could have made. I know it’s not for everyone.
Nara Aziza Pellman is fluent in English and German and calls it her native language. Although Smith’s religious devotion to Mormonism has generated a lot of controversy, she has indicated that she does not view herself as a “hardcore Mormon” and made it clear that she was not married in a Mormon temple.
I don’t know what I’m doing, I’m still learning and figuring out my own faith. I’m not in any way a hardcore Mormon or anything like that.
Both me and my husband are on our own journeys and figuring out how we want to raise our kids.
Nonetheless, Nara struggles with eczema and was diagnosed with lupus. She credits her lifestyle shift and commitment to preparing most of her meals from scratch with reducing the frequency of her eczema flare-ups.
