Shakira Concert 2025: Sold a Record-Breaking 1 Million Tickets in Mexico

Shakira Concert 2025

Shakira, a Colombian singer-songwriter, is on her seventh ongoing concert tour in support of her twelfth studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

Her tour began in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 11, 2025, and is currently scheduled to conclude in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on December 9, 2025.

After an electrifying halftime performance at Super Bowl LIV in 2020, Shakira was set to embark on a global tour in 2021. However, her plans were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fans eagerly awaited news, and in September 2023, the Colombian superstar told Billboard that she was preparing new music and a massive tour for the following year.

The official announcement came during her surprise appearance at Coachella 2024. She joined Bizarrap on stage and revealed the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

Three days later, Live Nation announced the North American leg, kicking off in November 2024. Due to overwhelming demand, additional shows were added in Palm Springs, Miami, and New York City.

In October 2024, Shakira’s team revealed dates for Latin America, with more cities quickly added as tickets sold out. Her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour is not just a concert, but it’s a celebration of resilience, womanhood, and timeless music.

Shakira Sold a Record-Breaking 1 Million Tickets in Mexico

According to Mexico’s largest event promoter, OCESA, Shakira has shattered records in Mexico, selling an unprecedented 1 million tickets for her 2025 Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour.

This milestone makes her the first artist ever to achieve such massive ticket sales solely within the country.

Her historic feat was accomplished through 26 concerts across two phases. The first leg in March 2025 saw her make history with seven consecutive sold-out shows in Mexico City.

This is an unprecedented figure and a statement of impact as powerful as the historic record of her 12 sold-out dates at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. One million tickets … in a country of 129 million inhabitants!

She also became the first artist to perform 12 concerts at the GNP Seguros Stadium, surpassing Grupo Firme’s previous record of nine shows at the same venue.

Due to overwhelming demand, Shakira added a second phase of performances in August and September, expanding to major cities like Monterrey, Querétaro, Guadalajara, Puebla, and Veracruz.

This surge pushed her past the 1 million tickets sold mark, solidifying her status as Mexico’s most in-demand international artist, even surpassing Taylor Swift’s previous touring success in the country.

Beyond ticket sales, Shakira’s tour has been a commercial powerhouse, earning over $130 million in mid-2025, according to Billboard Boxscore.

Her influence in Latin music remains unmatched, proving her enduring appeal across generations. Fans can still catch Shakira in Mexico at the following dates:

  • Mexico City: Aug. 27, 29, 30; Sept. 18
  • Monterrey: Aug. 23
  • Querétaro: Sept. 2, 3
  • Guadalajara: Sept. 6, 7
  • Puebla: Sept. 11, 12
  • Veracruz: Sept. 24

Shakira May Perform in Kazakhstan

Fans in Kazakhstan might soon witness a spectacular performance by global superstar Shakira.

The Colombian singer-songwriter could be the next international artist to take the stage in the country, according to producer Malik Khassenov of Astana Concert.

The speculation began after blogger Kamil Bairamov suggested in a social media video that Khassenov should invite Shakira to Kazakhstan. In response, the producer revealed that negotiations are already underway.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. We’re negotiating with her, and if everything goes according to plan, we’ll finalize the agreements this fall. Wait for news.

This comes just days after Jennifer Lopez made history with her first-ever concert in Kazakhstan at Astana Arena on August 1. J.Lo is set to perform again in Almaty on August 10.

Additionally, the legendary Backstreet Boys will bring their iconic hits to Almaty on September 19 and Astana on September 21.

If the deal is finalized, Shakira’s concert would further solidify Kazakhstan’s growing reputation as a hotspot for major international acts.

Fans are eagerly awaiting official confirmation.
