On Instagram, an account called Duggar Bates Confessions shares speculation and assumptions about the Duggar family and the Bates family. Instagram users can submit their own “confessions” about their families. Then, the account reposts them, and fans typically engage in a conversation about the assumptions made. Recently, a fan-submitted an anonymous confession about Jim Bob Duggar’s personality. The fan also discusses Michelle Duggar’s parenting.
Fans think Jim Bob Duggar is controlling
In the confession, the fan writes, “Jim Bob gives me a very uneasy feeling. I feel like he has too much control over the family and he can be overbearing.”
In the comments of the post, some fans are saying that they think that Michelle is actually the one in control. They don’t think that Jim Bob is “that bright.”
One fan explains their own theory, writing:
“I think Michelle has spent the last 25 years knowing she is married to a nutball and wanting to get out but not feeling like she had a godly reason. Something is going to change when Josie is out, I think. She’s protecting all those little girls at the end there. Not saying she doesn’t have a temper, she does..but she’s going to get on with life.”
What do fans think of Michelle Duggar?
In the same confession mentioned above, the fan includes their thoughts on Michelle. They write, “Michelle, on the other hand, seems to be a sweetheart, but she appears to be quite lazy in her parenting methods.”
Based on what viewers have seen on the family’s TLC shows, this may be accurate. Michelle has implemented a buddy system, which is where an older child is paired with a younger one. The older buddy typically cares for the younger buddy. Of course, there are some things that Michelle does as a mother. But with 19 kids, it’s possible that the older buddies do a lot of the parenting.
As for Michelle being sweet, some Instagram users think it’s an act. One fan writes, “I’ve never gotten sweetheart vibes from Michelle, actually I think she seems like she could be mean.”
What are Michelle & Jim Bob Duggar doing today?
Right now, new episodes of TLC’s Counting On aren’t airing. So, in the meantime, fans like to keep up with them via social media.
On social media, Jim Bob and Michelle aren’t nearly as active as their kids are. But they still share new photos and videos from time to time.
Most recently, the family wished their twin sons, Jedidiah and Jeremiah, a happy birthday. They share a lot of birthday posts, as well as highlights from their family’s get-togethers. They posted about Jessa Seewald’s Christmas video too.
Right now, the couple appears to be on a hiatus, as they’ve skipped posting about several of their kids’ birthdays recently.
