Mark Steven Dobies, the son of Suzanne Dobbies, was born on April 3, 1959, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Delaware Valley University on a football scholarship before transitioning into a career in acting.

He began his career in 1997 with a role in the drama series Fame L.A.

He went on to make guest appearances in numerous popular TV shows, including Just Shoot Me!, Home Improvement, Profiler, Melrose Place, Everybody Loves Raymond, CSI: Miami, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Gossip Girl, and Nash Bridges.

In addition to his guest roles, Dobies had notable recurring parts in daytime television. He played Dr. Noah Chase on Guiding Light (2000–2001) and Daniel Colson on One Life to Live (2003–2005).

His stage work includes a powerful performance as Bruce Niles in the 2004 off-Broadway revival of Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart at The Public Theater.

He was health-conscious and opened a health food store in NJ after retiring from the movie industry.
