Erica Wall appeared on Season 5 of My 600-lb Life in 2017, weighing 661 pounds. She couldn’t move at that time, dealing with heavy emotional baggage too.
Her childhood had abuse in it, she’d had surgery that failed, and her family situation was rough.
She kept trying to lose weight even when things got bad, and something clicked for her on the show. So what’s happened to her since then? Let’s dig into where life has taken her.
Where Is Erica Wall Now?
Erica Lynn Wall appears to have maintained her weight loss and stays out of the spotlight these days. Her episode ended with her down 190 pounds, and photos that came out later showed she’d made even more progress.
One of her final posts had her grinning at some miniature horse farm. She wrote about how amazing it felt to do stuff again – things she couldn’t do before.
She got excited talking about wanting to swim with dolphins someday and said she was having more fun than she’d had in forever. You could tell her whole attitude had shifted, and she could move around way better.
Early 2020 rolled around, and she updated her Facebook to say she was dating someone. But after that? Radio silence. Her social media went completely quiet.
Erica Wall’s Journey On The Show
Erica got on the program in 2017, weighing over 661 pounds. Her doctors said Don’t fly – too risky with her size and health issues. She relocated from California to Houston to consult with Dr. Younan Nowzaradan. She wanted gastric bypass surgery and her life back.
At 17, Erica had stomach stapling done – they don’t use that method much anymore. The staples broke down in five years, and all her weight came back. That old surgery created problems during her bypass.
Dr. Now had to keep stopping to fish out loose staples floating in her body. His weight loss program was challenging, and Erica struggled with it initially. But she didn’t quit. She lost 190 pounds and was approved for surgery. Her story continued in “Where Are They Now?”
In Houston, emotional problems hit her. Her boyfriend Jimmy dumped her because her house was cluttered and messy. The breakup hurt, but she stayed focused on losing weight.
By the end of that follow-up episode, she had lost another 100 pounds. Her personal life was a wreck, but she kept losing weight anyway.
Erica’s Early Struggle With Weight
Erica had problems when she was young. She weighed 300 pounds at 16, and other kids made fun of her. Additionally, her dad was mean, and he called her “Godzilla” and other bad names.
Furthermore, her boyfriend’s friends sexually attacked her, and this hurt her for a long time. As a result, she ate food to feel better, but this made her gain more weight.
Her mom died in 2013, and this hurt Erica. Moreover, she was too big to get close to her mom’s bed in the hospital to kiss her goodbye. This changed her life.
Meanwhile, her niece came to visit her a lot. Her niece brought junk food that made her eating problem worse. Despite this, Erica still worked hard and lost more than half her weight.
Erica’s Love Life and Relationship
Erica wanted to get healthy partly because of her relationship with Jimmy. They moved to Houston together when she was on the show.
However, they broke up later after they fought about her bringing more of her stuff to their house. The breakup made her feel bad, and she started eating for comfort again.
Even though they split up, Erica kept their photo on her Facebook page. Additionally, she shared an obscure post in 2020 about loving someone even after they leave. This made people think she still had feelings for Jimmy.
Furthermore, she changed her relationship status that year, which led people to wonder if she and her ex had reconciled.
Erica’s Family Background
Erica is the oldest child of Linda and Bob Wall. She has a sister named Molly Foster and a brother named Rob Wall. Her relationship with her siblings was bad at first because they were mad about her not trying hard enough. Over time, this got better, though.
Her mother, Linda Wall, was employed as a teacher at Santa Ynez Valley High School and retired in 2012. Her mother passed away at age 68 after a car crash in December 2013.
Erica has said her mother’s death was the worst loss her family ever had. Even with this mishap, she and her family still get together during holidays to remember Linda.
Her posts featuring Thanksgiving and Christmas photos honor her mother, in which she writes about how hard the loss has been. At the same time, she expresses gratitude for her remaining family members.
