U2 are going back to stadiums. The Irish rock legends announced their first 2027 world tour dates on Thursday (October 15), confirming a six-show opening leg across Latin America. The U2 2027 tour is officially titled Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth. First, it kicks off February 23 in Mexico City, then wraps March 25 in Buenos Aires. Beck opens every show.
It is the band’s first stadium run since The Joshua Tree Tour wrapped in December 2019. It also lands alongside a brand-new album arriving next month. Here are the dates, the tickets, the presales, and what comes next.
U2 2027 Tour Dates: The First Six Shows
The announcement names six stadium shows in three cities, produced by Live Nation. In addition, all four original members will play select stadiums in 2027 and beyond.
| Date | City | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| February 23, 2027 | Mexico City, Mexico | Estadio GNP Seguros |
| February 26, 2027 | Mexico City, Mexico | Estadio GNP Seguros |
| March 10, 2027 | São Paulo, Brazil | Estádio MorumBIS |
| March 12, 2027 | São Paulo, Brazil | Estádio MorumBIS |
| March 23, 2027 | Buenos Aires, Argentina | Estadio River Plate |
| March 25, 2027 | Buenos Aires, Argentina | Estadio River Plate |
These are the only three Latin American cities on the 2027 itinerary, so regional fans will need to travel. North American and European dates are coming in the next few weeks. A return to Ireland is also in the works.

Mexico City is one of the world’s great concert markets. Shakira sold a record-breaking 1 million tickets across her recent Mexico run, so two opening nights at Estadio GNP Seguros make sense.

Meanwhile, support-act picks rank among the most watched parts of any major tour announcement. Beck’s genre-crossing career makes him a natural fit. He moves between alt-rock, folk, electronic and experimental pop, and U2 have reinvented themselves just as often, as Consequence notes. Falling In Reverse’s Ronnie Radke recently showed how much fun a support slot can be — and this one should be no different.
New Album Carnaval De Luz Arrives November 13
The tour supports U2’s new album Carnaval De Luz, due November 13 via Interscope. Longtime collaborator Jacknife Lee produced the 12-track record, which explores themes of spirituality, friendship, freedom and endurance. For example, it grew from the same creative burst as their two surprise EPs from early 2026: Days of Ash and Easter Lily.

Three singles preview the record: “Silencio” (video shot in Mexico City), “Street of Dreams” and “The Greatest Show On Earth.” The last one dropped today alongside the tour news. But the most talked-about track may be the closer, “Torn” — a Bono and Dolly Parton duet. Reports say it is her final recorded vocal, co-written by U2, Parton and Johnny McDaid.
Why This U2 2027 Tour Is a Big Deal
This is not just another tour announcement. It ends a six-year stadium gap. The Joshua Tree Tour closed at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on December 15, 2019, after playing to nearly 3 million fans worldwide.

Since then, however, they traded stadiums for the most ambitious stage on the planet: a 40-show Sphere residency in Las Vegas. That run opened the venue and averaged over $6 million per night, according to Pollstar. Then, just last month, they celebrated their 50th anniversary with a surprise performance on Dublin’s Grafton Street.
In other words, the U2 2027 tour closes the loop. The band move from the intimacy of the Sphere back to stadium scale, with a new album and their original drummer. As the band put it: “A bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto — because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.”
From an industry angle, the Latin-America-first routing is a smart tell. The region’s stadium market is booming. Six shows let the band refine production before the bigger North American and European legs. And since these are the only Latin American shows planned for 2027, as JustJared notes, tickets should be extremely competitive.
What’s next? Watch for the North American and European date announcements in the coming weeks — plus the Ireland homecoming the band teased. Olivia Rodrigo’s tour setlists showed how fast fans decode new shows from opening-night choices. Expect heavy scrutiny of the 2027 setlist when the tour opens in Mexico City.
Will you try for presale tickets on Monday? Tell us in the comments which city you’re targeting. And keep it locked on The Celeb Watch for the North America and Europe announcements as they drop.
