Vogue World Milano 2026 turned Milan’s most famous shopping arcade into a full-blown spectacle on Tuesday, September 22. Gigi Hadid opened the show in couture, Jennifer Lopez danced down the runway, and Cardi B and Alicia Keys brought the star power. The night doubled as the official opening of Milan Fashion Week.
The fifth edition of Vogue’s traveling show took over the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It was part runway, part concert and part cultural statement, with Italian craftsmanship in the age of AI as its theme.
Gigi Hadid Opens Vogue World Milano 2026 in a 1,680-Hour Valentino Gown
Hadid glided through the glass-roofed arcade in a gold brocade Valentino Haute Couture gown by Alessandro Michele. His atelier hand-built the Renaissance-inspired creation from recycled Venetian quilts over 1,680 hours of labor.
She later changed into an all-white Gucci look for a second appearance. The evening was staged in five acts: The Artisanal Revolution, The Industrial Revolution, Made in Italy, The Age of Intelligence and The Imagination Revolution. Each act moved from handcraft toward technology and the future.
Jewelry played a starring role too. Hadid wore Damiani high-jewelry earrings to open the show, and the maison also dressed singer Levante, actor Stefano Accorsi and style icon Olivia Palermo for the evening, per Damiani.
Jennifer Lopez Dances Down the Runway in Dolce & Gabbana
Lopez arrived with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Then, during Act III (“Made in Italy”), she left her front-row seat and hit the catwalk. She performed choreography in a romantic black embellished Dolce & Gabbana 2025 Alta Moda Roma gown with slingback stilettos.
A Dolce & Gabbana high-jewelry necklace finished the look. A reported 74.459-carat Paraiba tourmaline anchored it. Fans captured the moment on video and shared it to Instagram, where it quickly went viral.
Cardi B Leads a Versace Pop-Art Parade
Cardi B walked alongside Amelia Gray, Imaan Hammam and Ida Heiner in prints pulled from Gianni Versace’s 1991 Warhol-inspired collection. She paired the look with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Fashion Times called it one of the night’s defining fashion moments.
J Balvin appeared in a pink printed suit with a metallic sheen. Machine Gun Kelly walked in an orange Byblos jumpsuit. Meanwhile, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves’ 18-year-old son Levi showed off his dance moves in a gray suit.
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe’s daughter Ava also walked, right past boyfriend Jason Momoa’s front-row seat. Tennis star Aryna Sabalenka wore Gucci, and Bridgerton‘s Simone Ashley, Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline and Sam Claflin joined the parade too.
Alicia Keys Closes the Vogue World Milano Night With “I Feel Love”
Alicia Keys closed the show with a live performance of Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love.” Her beaded gown trailed a long train, and the design team built the look for movement and performance.
Models Helena Christensen, Vittoria Ceretti and Iris Law joined her in coordinated white looks. Italian ballet star Roberto Bolle and dancers from La Scala’s academy performed alongside her. The choreography came from Charm La’Donna, an Emmy winner known for Bad Bunny’s halftime show.
The Robots That Stole Vogue World Milano 2026
The night’s biggest talking point was not a person at all. Humanoid robots from the Chinese firm Unitree walked the runway during “The Age of Intelligence.” They danced to Gigi D’Agostino’s “L’Amour Toujours,” waved at the audience, and one even performed a lasso trick.
The segment was backed by visible tech sponsors, including Meta Glasses and OpenAI. Front-row designers Miuccia Prada and Alessandro Michele watched with wide eyes. Social media split between delight and unease, and Polimoda’s review noted that everyone ended up talking about the robots.
The machines raised an obvious question. Is this a celebration of fashion’s evolution, or a sign of the human touch being replaced? Vogue clearly wanted the audience to ask it.
Fashion With a Purpose
The show also raised money for a real cause. Vogue said 100 percent of ticket and capsule-collection proceeds support the Quarto Oggiaro Library in Milan. The next day, the city’s industry leaders gathered at the CNMI gala to underline fashion’s economic role in Italy.
Vogue also announced the next stop. San Francisco will host the 2027 edition. This was the fifth Vogue World, following New York, London, Paris and Hollywood.
Why Vogue World Milano 2026 Matters
The “Made in Italy” theme was no accident. About half of the world’s luxury apparel, footwear and leather goods are produced in Italy, and the show put that craftsmanship front and center.
The evening also paused for a tribute to Giorgio Armani, who died in September 2025. Supermodel Eva Herzigova led the moment. Designers on the front row included Miuccia Prada, Donatella Versace, Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana, Demna and Pierpaolo Piccioli.
In the end, the message was clear. Craft still matters, even in the age of AI. And when fashion wants the world’s attention, it still knows how to put on a show.
