Bettina Anderson is one of the most searched names in America today — and the reason sits at the intersection of a broken engagement, an alleged text-message leak, and a diplomatic downfall. On Tuesday, the White House asked Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign as U.S. ambassador to Greece. The move came just days after alleged leaked texts surfaced in which Guilfoyle trashed her ex-fiancé Donald Trump Jr.’s new wife, Anderson. Here is who she is — and what happens next.

Who Is Bettina Anderson?

Bettina Anderson is a Palm Beach socialite, philanthropist, and former model who married Donald Trump Jr. in May 2026. Born in December 1986, she is 39. Her father, Harry Loy Anderson Jr., was a banker; her mother, Inger Anderson, is a Swedish-born philanthropist.

She also earned an art history degree from Columbia University, then built a career in business development and philanthropy alongside modeling work. Before the marriage, however, she kept a far lower profile than the Trump family orbit she would soon join.

Their romance played out in public long before they married. The Daily Mail published photos of the pair at a bar in August 2024. More photos showed them holding hands that December, around the time Trump Jr.’s engagement to Kimberly Guilfoyle ended.

The Alleged Leaked Texts That Put Bettina Anderson in the Spotlight

The texts come from a 150-page dossier released by Eric Deters, a Kentucky attorney and former congressional candidate. The Daily Mail published its account on October 10; read the full rundown here.

In the messages, Guilfoyle allegedly called Anderson a “[sic] cloud-chasing horror” who chases media coverage. She also allegedly claimed Anderson sent bikini photographs of herself to the Mail for coverage.

But keep three things in mind. First, these messages are alleged — neither woman has confirmed them, and no major U.S. outlet has independently verified the texts. Second, Guilfoyle’s lawyers have disputed the authenticity of messages tied to separate reporting about her. Finally, Anderson has not publicly responded.

What Kimberly Guilfoyle’s Resignation Means for the Story

Meanwhile, earlier this month, The Wall Street Journal reported that she had pressed Deters over Signal to wire $100,000 to her American Express account days before her July 9, 2025 Senate confirmation hearing. The Journal also reported claims that she promoted a Greek construction company’s interests and accepted luxury travel and gifts.

Her lawyers, however, denied wrongdoing and said any money discussed related to unpaid speaking fees. But the pressure kept building. On Monday, President Trump said his team was “not happy” with her. On Tuesday, new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia announced the decision: “We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign. She has been a wonderful asset to the team, and we wish her well.”

As a result, her ambassadorship ended after barely a year. The Senate had confirmed her in a 51–47 vote on September 18, 2025.

What’s Next for Bettina Anderson and Donald Trump Jr.?

For now, Anderson is staying out of the public fray, because the couple has said nothing publicly since the texts surfaced. The couple married only five months ago and, earlier reports suggested, were still enjoying the newlywed phase. Page Six reported in June that the pair planned to have children but had “not put a timeline” on it.

Meanwhile, the bigger questions belong to Washington: what the inspector general investigation finds, and who replaces Guilfoyle in Athens. The wedding-funding controversy is also still alive — Kremlev, a close ally of Vladimir Putin, covered hundreds of thousands in costs, including a private island rental, before being reimbursed, and some lawmakers have called for a congressional investigation.

The saga is far from over, but one thing is clear: Bettina Anderson went from Palm Beach socialite to one of the most talked-about names in America in under two years, and the spotlight is not fading.
