As Matt James’ season of The Bachelor wraps up, it’s almost time for the next Bachelorette to be announced. Though ABC hasn’t officially announced who the next lead is, it’s been spoiled already.
According to Reality Steve, the Bachelor spoiler king, the new lead is Katie Thurston. Reality Steve often shares updates about Bachelor Nation and he’s often correct. He has his trusted sources on the topic, so fans have come to trust him too.

On Monday, Steve revealed that the official announcement from ABC will be coming soon. In the meantime, fans are talking about the rumored selection and they have a lot to say.
The official announcement should come when the women’s tell-all airs. But it could be confirmed sooner since the news is already public.
Bachelor Nation reacts to Bachelorette announcement

Some think that the network should keep working toward having a more diverse lineup. One fan writes, “They could have chosen among many amazing brown and black women but no. First they let go Mike and now another chance to be diverse.”
Plenty of fans are happy, because they are huge fans of Katie. One writes, “I am so happy because she has my personality and I love how forward she is and it seems like a lot of people are shocked but you know what I’m happy for once.”
Another one adds, “I’m not mad about this! She carried herself with maturity compared to all the other woman this season honestly. And she gives me Kaitlyn Bristowe vibes.”
Someone points out that they like Katie but don’t think she’s the right fit for the show. They explain, “I think shes a great person but this is a really odd choice. Just dont think shes gonna be that popular with the guys that go on the show.”
As you can see, there are many different reactions from Bachelor Nation. It will be interesting to see what happens if Katie is officially confirmed as the new lead.
Bachelor season wraps up
The current season of The Bachelor is slowly coming to an end. New episodes air Mondays on ABC. On Monday, February 8, Matt sent the following women home:

Since Katie did indeed go home on Monday, that would mean that she is in line to become the next Bachelorette. Of course, there are many possibilities and plenty of women remain on the show. Anyone who’s eliminated soon could become The Bachelorette.
