Benson James Boone, the son of Kerry and Nate Boone, was born on June 25, 2002, in Monroe, Washington. He grew up with his four sisters, Stacey, Sian, Selena, and Evie.
He was on Monroe High School’s competitive diving team and discovered his musical talent during his junior year when one of his friends asked him to participate in their high school’s battle of the bands.
Benson focused on his singing career, leaving Brigham Young Univeristy. He took singing seriously after attending a Jon Bellion concert.
Later, he began posting singing videos on Tiktok and appeared in season 19 of American Idol in early 2021. Although he advanced to the Hollywood Week, he withdrew from the competition just after winning a place in the Top 24 to focus on his career.
He caught the attention of Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds, who signed him to his record label, Night Street Records, which is partnered with Warner Records.
Afterward, he released his single Ghost Town, followed by Room for 2 on February 18, 2022. He opened for Taylor Swift’s June 23, 2024 show.

He walked with his girlfriend, Maggie Thurman, at his red carpet debut in the MTV VMAs. They posed together for photos and shared a kiss for the cameras before the event.

Fans referred him to the AI version of Harry Styles due to the similarities between the duo. He caught people’s attention doing backflips at Lana Del Ray concerts.
